Stardate 0309.24 IKS DuranQo Planet wa'Hom One
Class H Desert
Age: 4-10 billion years
Diameter: 8,000-10,000 km
Location: Hot Zone/Ecosphere/Cold Zone
Surface: Hot and arid, little or no surface water
Atmosphere: May contain heavy gases and metal vapors
Life forms: Drought- and radiation-resistant plants, animal life
Example: Rigel XII, Tau Cygna V
12) An inhabitant of the planet tries to take over your ship.
Our mission to survey and establish an outpost on the first planet in the wa'Hom system has at last given us a chance to do battle on this mission. Scans of the atmosphere revealed heavy gases and trace metal vapors, but sufficient oxygen and nitrogen for us to survive. Knowing this, I expected to find some resilient species to provide a challenge for us. Orbital sensor scans, however, showed no sentient life on the planet, and in fact little vegetation. It turned out, however, that there was indeed hostile life on this world.
I led the first survey team, transporting with ten warriors to a large desert on the northern continent. We were starting to scan microscopic life that mixed with the surface sand when what appeared to be a sandstorm suddenly engulfed us. We attempted to move away from the storm, only to find that it followed us. After numerous attempts to evade the storm, I ordered the team transported back to the ship.
Once on board, we found that the storm had been caught in the transporter beam. It immediately pushed through the bulkheads on a molecular level, according to the science officer. From there it went straight to the the warp engine and computer core. Systems began to go crazy seconds later. The storm, whatever it was, was trying to take over the ship. Fortunately, our scans of the storm revealed much about the strange life that composed the sandstorm including its vulnerability to delta radiation. From that point, it was a simple matter of inoculating the crew to delta radiation, and then bathing every inch of the ship in the deadly substance. The sand-entity was removed as a threat. We then equipped enough torpedoes with sufficient delta radiation to cleanse the planet of the organism. We estimate that the planet will be habitable in a few days, at which time a permanent team will be assigned to fully survey the planet and construct an outpost.

Warship Log Stardate 0108.27 IKS DuranQo, in Draylon Sector (TOS Map)
of our enforced three-day layover in the outskirts of the Capella system, we
detected two ships moving in and out of the system. The first was a small
ship that we are guessing was a Klingon scout ship. It orbitted the planet
for a very short time before heading away. A few hours later, a larger ship
appeared that was, according to computer records of the time, was the USS
Enterprise. While the idea of doing battle with Kirk makes my blood sing, I
count myself and my ship lucky that we remained undetected.

Warship Log Stardate 0108.23 IKS DuranQo, in Draylon Sector (TOS Map)
our enforced three-day layover in the outskirts of the Capella system, we
were detected and engaged by the Federation Light Cruiser USS Entebbe. There
was no chance to avoid combat, and the valiant ship was destroyed with all
hands. Combat proceeded as follows:

Warship Log Stardate 0108.20 IKS DuranQo, in Draylon Sector (TOS Map)
fringes of the Arachnid nebula, and found our speed reduced by half. This
nebula presents a particular danger to us, owing to several factors. Our
cloak is subject to failing in here, and even if it does not fail, other
ships happening to pass nearby might note visual evidence of our existence
as we move through the thick gasses and debris in here. That very debris
also poses a threat to our hull, weakened as it is by our journey. For all
that, the nebula is safer than the space nearby. Therein lies the Capella
system, heavily disputed by the Empire and the Federation of this era.
Again, I find myself forced to hide rather than facing my enemies. It is
distasteful, but I have to do more than just die with honor. I must lead my
crew with a steady hand through troubled and uncharted waters.
Supplemental entry:
An unexplained explosion in the nebula put our cloak offline, and damaged
the impulse deck. When microfractures began to form along the hull, we were
forced to leave the relative safety of the nebula. We are now within sensor
range of the contested Capella system, and unable to move for three days. If
any ship happens upon us, we will be in for the fight of our lives.

Warship Log Stardate 0108.11 IKS DuranQo, in Caldic Sector (TOS Map)
system. Slipping further into enemy territory, we are effectively blind as
long as we remain cloaked. Extreme long range sensors showed a moving blip
from the general direction of the Kalandra system. We continued along our
course, and I must admit to being relieved when the blip continued along on
its course, which would take it into Tzenkethi space. There was no
indication of communications to or from the craft. If any craft detects us
and communicates our existence, we will certainly find ourselves facing a
wall of Federation starships. And then, our only hope will be a good death,
and eternal battle in StoVoKor.

Warship Log Stardate 0108.07 IKS DuranQo, in Bajor Sector (TOS Map)
system. So far, our cloak has kept us undetected. We have discovered,
however, that much like primitive 23rd century Romulan cloaks, ours seems to
be blinding us to all but a simple motion sensor. Since we cannot wait where
we are (where expanding Cardassians will eventually discover us), we must
push blindly through the bulk of enemy territory.
Thursday, January 3, 2008
Warship Log Stardate 0108.03 IKS DuranQo, near Cardassian Space
spatial/temporal compression wave, the DuranQo has been thrown back in time
to the mid 23rd Century. As soon as we were aware of our situation we
cloaked and went on high alert. We are in enemy territory. The Cardassians
of this era are even less honorable than their 24th Century counterparts,
and in this time their empire is fragmented and hungry. According to our
records, they are many years away from conflict with the Federation. And
what of the Federation?
I have no love for the Federation, treaty or not, but they are honorable in
their own way, and despite my instincts, I will not carve a path of
destruction through their space. Nor will I use my superior ship to hunt
down and slaughter James T Kirk. That would be dishonorable. While I have a
long and dangerous mission through Federation space, I will attempt to make
the journey back to Klingon space cloaked, in an attempt to avoid conflict
that could alter the timeline. If we are discovered, we will be attacked,
and in that case we will fight back.
There is also the question of what we will do when we return to the Empire.
The Empire of this time is different. They would certainly take advantage of
our advanced technology to destroy the Federation. And while the idea is not
completely objectionable, I am convinced that the change to the timeline
would be disastrous. So I will have to find a solution. Hopefully we will be
able to return to our own time in the relative safety of the 23rd Century
Empire without having to wrestle with the timeline.
Supplemental log entry. The bad news has gotten worse. The chief engineer
informs me that our passage through the compression wave damaged our
tactical and defense systems. Our combat effectiveness has rendered us the
equivalent of a 23rd Century heavy cruiser. So we don't have the advanced
technology we might have needed to survive this.

Warship Log Stardate 1207.30 IKS DuranQo, Docked at Deep Space Nine
finally returned to his starship, and I officially transferred the
scientist, a Mister Sargon to his custody. Good riddance. We have been
'invited' by this Sargon to remain to listen to news and an announcement
regarding a long-term science expedition. I declined the invitation, but the
High Command ordered me to attend. I will go, because it is my duty. But it
has been my experience that this Sargon has more love for long complicated
words than a Vulcan. It will be a great sacrifice. I will record my thoughts
on this later.
Captain's log, supplemental. It was a waste of time. Sargon plans to set up
a science platform on a rogue planet designated 'Xena' that will spend the
next three hundred years travelling through the galaxy. Apparently, Sargon
is an ancient non-corporeal energy being inhabiting an android body. So with
this technology, he will travel the galaxy on a rock. Truly inspiring. On
the subject of Spatial/Temporal Compression, Mister Sargon suggests that a
massive disturbance outside of our galaxy may be causing the effect, but
offers no solution or plan of action. Again, he is like a Vulcan in that he
seems to enjoy talking just for the sake of impressing others and himself
with his vocabulary. I have recorded his speech for posterity and will
present it to the council.
The competent engineering staff of Deep Space Nine assisted in a complete
inspection of the DuranQo, and it has been deemed spaceworthy, so I am
happily taking my leave of the Federation and Bajoran crew of this
Cardassian station. Korvus out.

Warship Log Stardate 1207.26 IKS DuranQo
encountered what our science officer calls a temporal disturbance wavefront
near the Iota Leonis system, what the humans call Argelius. It transported
us almost instantaneously to the vicinity of our destination, Starbase Deep
Space Nine. The Starship Guadalcanal is docked, although its Captain is
investigating the origin of an attack on the station. While we are awaiting
Captain Murphy's convenience, I will have the DuranQo inspected for damage
or malfunction related to the temporal disturbance wavefront. I will be
happy to dispose of this scientist and return to the Empire.

Warship Log Stardate 1207.24 IKS DuranQo, enroute to Deep Space Nine
the Miridian system today. It is sadly devoid of enemy activity. We hope to
deposit the scientist at Deep Space Nine as quickly as possible so we can
return to the Empire. With any luck there will be an insurrection to put
down somewhere.

Warship Log Stardate 1207.23 IKS DuranQo, enroute to Deep Space Nine
Federation starbase Deep Space Nine, we inadvertantly strayed into Romulan
space near the Unroth system where we encountered the Romulan Light Cruiser
Talon. Sadly for the crew of the Talon, they did not prevail. To their
honor, the explosive effect of their hull blowing apart did momentarily
threaten to overwhelm our shields.
