Here are the first four rounds of my second go at orbital combat. The first attempt vanished in a puff of deleted file. I've just about got the combat log template where I like it. I've started to include the text map with the little place markers, as well as the brilliant idea of numbering each turn in the archives. Makes it easier to track turns between photon launches, etc. You might note that shuttle 'a', launched by the Guadalcanal at 17,3 is hanging back to try to do some additional damage to the Decius. That's me trying to employ some advanced tactics. The warbird will be decloaking when it gets around the curve of the planet and loses line of sight. It can launch a plasma at the Guadalcanal, but Captain Murphy will have the choice of outrunning the torpedo or targeting it. His real challenge will be boarding the enemy ship and either capturing it or downloading the computer core.
