Tholian Simple Combat

 

You know, you may not be able to fly a Tholian ship on Star Trek Online (and I'm sure there is no PvE for Tholians there either), but you can fight as or against a Tholian for free on Fantasy Trek. Rules are simple. If you want to throw a web on someone, you have to put a third of your points toward the web for three consecutive volleys. If you do so without being destroyed in the meantime, you have three volleys to fire on a powerless opponent. That's right, only you roll, put one third on maintaining the web, and put the rest on offense and your opponent cannot attack or defend. But only for three turns.  Then the web is gone and you've got a very angry opponent. I ran the KCA IKS etlh against the TCA TSS Loskene for seven rounds. Just to note: when you see something like *1/3, that indicates 1/3 turns charging up web (in the tholian's case), or being held in the web (in the opponent's case). Here is an example: TSS Loskene rolls: 50 16/16o/18d*1/3-this means the Tholian rolled a 5 (50). He gave roughly a third (16) for the web, then the remaining for offense and defense. 16/16o is the web/offense allocation. Here are the logs...
