Head to Head Sector Assault Turns 3 and 4 + Dev Notes

At the end of Turn 2, The Federation 1st Fleet had made it through the first
construct turn without challenge, while the Klingon 1st Fleet was wiped out
in a punishing defeat, only staying in the game by capturing three of the
attacking Federation ships. Turn 3 brought a stunning reversal of fortune.

The Federation 1st Fleet was destroyed, leaving three Klingon heavy cruisers
(KCA IKS Kor KCA IKS Kang KCA IKS Koloth) undamaged, and prepared to occupy
system 1. In System 5, the Klingon 1st Fleet, consisting of the captured FCA
USS Hornet FCA USS Entebbe FCA USS Bozeman proceeded with turn 2 of KSY
Klinzai without challenge. Turn 4 would continue to cast a shadow over the
Federation cause.

Turn 4)

(1209.14) IKS Kor KCA IKS Kang KCA IKS Koloth vs FCA USS Christopher FCA USS

Christopher (damage 10/15). All other ships destroyed.
System 5: KF1 (captured FCA USS Hornet FCA USS Entebbe FCA USS Bozeman)
continue construct KSY Klinzai. KSY Klinzai construct turn 3= no contact.
KSY Klinzai complete.

Four Federation heavy cruisers (FCA USS Christopher FCA USS Belknap FCA USS
Gideon FCA USS Riverside) attacked the Kang, Kor and Koloth in System 1.
After a punishing battle, the Belknap, Gideon, Riverside, Kang and Kor had
been destroyed, and the Christopher had been heavily damaged. (10/15
damage). Boarding parties from the Koloth beamed to the struggling
Christopher and captured the bridge, ending the battle. It remains to be
seen if they can survive and start pushing through towards friendly space.
The Christopher is in no shape to enter combat, but may not survive the two
turns sitting still necessary to repair. Probably they'll move to open
space, where there is a smaller chance of a random heavy fleet attack and
the chance of destroying enemy convoys, thereby reducing the Federation's
random fleet numbers. At the same time, the Klingon 1st Fleet heads for open
space next, where it will hunt convoys and start to slice away at the
Federation's economic resources.

On the developer side, so far so good. The only balance issue I see is the
overwhelming edge that the "elite" ranking gives me in boarding party action
(extra 3d6 roll added to ranks) makes my troops pretty much unstoppable
unless they are extremely outnumbered
